O’Malley/Brown Campaign Expands Operations In Montgoemery County

Surging Support Spurs Move to Larger Office

ROCKVILLE, MD (June 19, 2006) – Today, the O’Malley-Brown campaign announced that it would be moving its Montgomery County Regional Field Office to larger office space to accommodate the surging level of support the campaign has garnered in recent weeks. The new office, which is four times bigger than the old one, is located at 10 South Avenue in Rockville.

The move comes shortly after running mate Anthony Brown kicked off a “More for Montgomery initiative to recruit 2,500 new campaign volunteers.

“The growth in our office space is a reflection of the growth in the support in Montgomery County for the independent leadership of Martin O’Malley and Anthony Brown, said Hari Sevugan, Communications Director for the campaign. “The O’Malley/Brown vision of a stronger Maryland that grows our economy and protects our quality of life is resonating with Montgomery County families and throughout the state.

As part of its “More in Montgomery initiative, the campaign has been very active in the county. On June 9, O’Malley and Brown attended a town hall meeting in Germantown to address Montgomery County residents’ concerns about runaway development and increased congestion in the county. They joined Rockville Mayor Larry Giammo to answer questions and listen to Montgomery County residents express their concerns about increased traffic, loss of green space and overcrowded schools. O’Malley and Brown also visited the Clarksburg Town Center, which has been plagued by confrontations with Montgomery County planning officials.
