and commitment to equal opportunity

BALTIMORE, MD (July 25, 2006) – Today, hundreds of Maryland women launched “Women for O’Malley/Brown, a group that will be dedicated to ensuring that Martin O’Malley and Anthony Brown are elected Maryland’s next governor and Lt. Governor. The event, held aboard the Bay Lady in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, was hosted by Senator Barbara Mikulski and the Women for O’Malley/Brown steering committee, a group of over 60 women.

“Women will be the deciding factor in this fight – a fight for the hardworking Maryland families who have been, for too long, struggling to get by,â€? O’Malley said as he addressed the crowd, alongside his mother, Barbara O’Malley, and his daughters, Grace and Tara. “Anthony and I want you to know that you have our solemn pledge that we will listen to and work with you to knock down any remaining barriers that prevent women from reaching their potential.â€?
